Cruise parking Port Canaveral advices small guide

The most convenient cruise parking at Port Canaveral is onsite at the official cruise terminal parking lot. It is just a short walk from the cruise ships, so there’s no need to arrange shuttle transport or taxis to and from the cruise ship. However, you will pay a higher parking fee ($17 per day) for the convenience. Payment is made onsite by credit card. Port Canaveral cruise terminal parking includes a point where drivers can drop off their baggage and/or passengers. From there, porters will assist with heavy baggage. Drivers will then be directed to a parking facility nearby.

While the major ports farther south – especially Miami – get most of the headlines, don’t be fooled. Port Canaveral, located about 45 minutes east of Orlando, is among the busiest departure ports in America. Depending on the year, it is either second or third in number of passengers, battling with Port Everglades for the distinction. Extra details on Port Canaveral parking.

Back to this one. Driving to your cruise can be about as stress-free as you can imagine. Road trips are easier (and more fun) than flying because it gives you more time to plan, pack and get yourself in a vacation mindset. You can check and double-check that you’ve packed everything from sunscreen to socks. You have the chance to pick up whatever you forgot (because we always forget something, don’t we?) as you drive to your cruise. You can be sure you’ve printed out all the cruise confirmations, luggage tags and documents you need to get onboard. And you can turn around the car when 15 minutes later you realize you left a passport/birth certificate/phone/phone charger sitting by the door; once you’re through security at an airport, those forgotten items are nothing but stress dragging your vacation down.

Admittedly, I’ve only sailed Disney Cruise Line from Port Canaveral, and I’ve always found the process to be easy and straightforward. If you are taking the Disney transportation from the airport, you’ll leave your luggage before boarding the motor coach at the airport. Once you arrive at the port, you’ll be directed through security, then will travel upstairs to the check in area. The Disney terminal is so well appointed, and it really gets you in the spirit of traveling with Disney. There are three separate check-in areas. One is for first-time cruisers, one is for Castaway Club silver and gold members, and one is for concierge guests and Platinum Castaway Club members.
